To My Muslim Friends

You and I have much in common. We also have our differences as well, so I will not attempt to argue or compare the Holy Bible with the Holy Qur’an. What I would like to do instead, if you are willing to hear me out, is share with you my own experiences of Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ Spirit has come into my body. When this first happened, I was a “Christian in name only,” if you know what I mean.

On that day when I yielded authority to Jesus Christ and said in prayer, “Whatever you would like to do with my life, you may do,” to my GREAT surprise, for the next 48 hours or so, I could hear his voice inside me, repeating at regular intervals the phrase, “I am always with you.”

Sometime later Jesus gave me the spiritual gift of being able to pray in tongues, a supernatural language to communicate with God directly from my spirit to his Spirit.

I find that when my own words in praise or supplication give out, I can continue to pray earnestly from my spirit to God with this gift of tongues.

Over many years now as a pastor, I have had the privilege of praying for people in the name of Jesus, laying hands upon them, and seeing them instantly healed. This has not happened every time I have prayed for people to be healed, but it has happened on several occasions.

Furthermore, I have on occasion been able to address evil spirits in the name of Jesus Christ and demand they leave people. I have watched with my own eyes as those hateful things left.

There have been many times, when asking God to speak to me, I have heard His “still, small voice” speaking within, telling of His love for me.

I remember the first time I asked God to tell me what He thought of me. I was afraid. My fear was that He would bring up my many sins. Instead, to my great relief, I heard Him say instead, “I love you. You are my son and I am proud of you.”

The love of God toward me is the most important gift I have received from Jesus Christ. Not only do I FEEL the love of God inside me, I also have the assurance that my sins have been forgiven and that when my body dies, I will be with Jesus forever.

You do not know me, so you will have to take my word on this, but God has changed me from an insecure, immoral man, filled with selfish ambition, to a man others now look to for wisdom. My family and friends can attest to this enormous change in my life.

Because of Jesus, I discovered I am ALREADY pleasing to God. His righteousness has been attributed to me. I do not live with the endless burden of feeling I do not “measure up” to God’s standards.

Gratitude and love now fill my life. While I am far from perfect, my ability to avoid sin and love other people has DRAMATICALLY improved.

Trusting and obeying Jesus Christ has become the single focus of my life.

This invitation from Jesus is my very favorite: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

Thank you for hearing me out. May God’s peace and all of His blessings be upon you and remain!
